The adult department offers a collection of books, large print, audiobooks, movies, music, magazines, and digital content.
Adult Book Discussion
- Well-Read Book Club: This discussion group meets on the first Friday of the month at 10:30 am in the Conference Room. Join us for a lively discussion on a diverse array of classics, modern works, fiction, and non-fiction. Download a full reading list here. Like years past a link to the list of books will be added here as well as a pamphlet containing all of this year's titles will be available from the front circulation desk.
Ongoing Adult Programs
- Arts and Crafts: Do you enjoy crafting and being artistic? Join us for a new program featuring arts and crafts for adults. We will feature a new craft to make each month. View our calendar or flyers to find out what the new craft will be. There may be a small fee or no cost depending on the craft and will be clearly stated on promotional materials.
- Creative Writing Club: Join us in a collaborative work space where members can write, share ideas, and provide feedback for each other's work!
- American Red Cross Blood Drive: Would you like to help save a life? Donate blood at the library! Our friends at the American Red Cross have scheduled blood drives throughout the year in our program room. - Genealogy Class: Join us for a monthly genealogy program focused on learning how to research your ancestors. Learn how to search, explore, and find your ancestors using the Ancestry Library Edition. Visit our calendar to reserve your spot at the genealogy class.
- Movie Night - We will screen a free popular release film each month on the third Thursday at 6 pm. You can visit our calendar to see what film we are showing each month. Popcorn and soda will be provided.
Binge Boxes
Do you enjoy binging out on a movie or TV series? Now you can enjoy settling in for the night and watching binge-worthy themed movies brought to you by the Monticello-Union Township Public Library. A selection of binge boxes based on themes will be available for patrons to select and borrow.
Loan restrictions will be the following:
- Patron can borrow 2 at the time of check out
- Can be borrowed for 7 days, no renewal
- Late, lost, and damage fees will apply
For a limited time, a bag of popcorn will be included in each binge box to enjoy. The following are a list of available Binge Box themes to borrow:
