Friends of the Library

The purpose of the Friends of the Monticello-Union Township Public Library is to establish a closer relationship between the library and the public. This non-profit organization promotes the knowledge of and advocates for the library’s services and needs. New members are welcome, through volunteering with the library’s various projects or by financial support to the group as due paying members.

The Friends support the library by funding activites, supplies, classes, projects, and equipment. Due to the support of the Friends group, the library was able to successfully host the Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre, the Broadway Art Show, Lego Leagues, and special presentations.

Every year, the Friends hold used book sales to financially support the library. Friends volunteer their time to organize and set up each book sale. Donations from the community benefit these book sales and support the Friends mission to promote and support the library. If you would like to donate materials to the book sales, please contact the library at 574-583-2665 to ask if the library is accepting donations.

The Friends of the Monticello-Union Township Public Library have set up their organization with AmazonSmile and Kroger to receive donations when you shop and make purchases at these participating stores. For information on how to set up those accounts, contact the library for a one-on-one instruction or you can download a copy of the Friends brochure for a guide on setting these accounts up.
