Kick-off for Summer Reading at the City Park on June 4
Readers of all ages will explore all things musical this summer as Monticello-Union Township Public Library presents “Libraries Rock” during their summer library program. Summer reading program runs from June 4 – July 14. Registration begins on Tuesday, May 29th. Kickoff for summer reading will begin on June 5 at the Monticello City Park. Join us for games, activities, and signing up for the summer!
Patrons are invited to try something new: listen to new music, read a new book, try a new craft, meet new people, and much more! This summer, we will have Instrument Petting Zoo, Toddler/Pre-School Time, Rock On – Rock Cycle, Experiments with Lights, and Summer Concerts.
Babies, toddlers, and children will need to read 6 books or 600 pages to receive a prize and be entered into a drawing based on reading category; Read to Me 1st place gets a drummer/music set and 2nd place gets a Rocket Ship play tent, K-2 grade could win a keyboard play mat, and 3rd – 5th could win a Simon Air Game/Gift Card.
Adults must read 6 books or 600 pages to complete the program and receive a stylus pen/stand at sign-up and a drawstring bag at completion, plus be entered into a drawing to win a record player.
Teens will use the bingo sheet to mark each activity they complete. Sign- up prize is earbuds and for completion teens will receive a bag, plus be entered to win a gift card.
