Library Receives Grant for Art Classes
The Monticello-Union Township Public Library is proud to announce that it has received a grant to host creative aging programming for older adults. We are one of 36 libraries to receive training and funding through Lifelong Arts Indiana, a program that promotes arts and creativity services for adults ages 65 and older. We are thrilled to host the Art Harmony: Connecting with Your Loved One Through Art program supported by the Indiana Arts Commission in partnership with the Family and Social Services Administration.
Embark on a transformative journey with this series - 'Art Harmony: Connecting with Your Loved One Through Art.' Join us for five sequential workshops designed to unite caregivers supporting family members facing cognitive decline. Discover the power of art to forge deeper connections, even if you're not currently a caregiver.
Immerse yourself in engaging sessions featuring live demonstrations, heartfelt discussions, shared experiences, soothing meditation, and mark-making. Our program culminates with tips to continue the artistic journey at home, leaving you with a reflection on the life-enriching impact of art for both caregivers and their loved ones.
