Children's Summer Reading "A Universe of Stories"
May 23 - July 12For Summer Reading, the Read to Me group reads for 5 hours and the K-2nd and 3rd-5th groups read for 10 hours. Readers can then return their reading log for a completion prize. They also get a raffle ticket for our space-themed grand prizes.

Summer Reading Kickoff at the City Park
May 23 at 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Join us for games, snacks, and sign up for summer reading! For all ages.
Saturday Arts and Crafts
June 1 and July 6 at 11 a.m.
Come create a sock donuts on June 1 and moon dough on July 6 at the library.
June 3, 10, 17, & 24 and July 1, 8, 15, 22, & 29 at 3:30 p.m.
Join us for some fun creative Lego building! For all ages. There will be a special LEGO Competition on July 22 at 3:30 p.m. Join us for friendly competition and win a prize for top builder.
June 4 and July 9 at 3 p.m. & June 8 July 13 at 10 a.m.
Let's explore and learn the basics about LittleBits electronics. For children in grades 2-5. Register.
June 12 & 26 and July 11 at 10 a.m.
Families with children ages 2-5 years old can come in and have a rockin' good time! Stories, music, activities, and more!
StarLab Inflatable Dome
June 14 at 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Enter the dome and learn about the constellations in a 45-mintues program. Registration is required, as only 20 people can fit at a time. Session times are 9:30, 10:30, 11:30, 1:30, and 2:30. Call or stop by the library to register. Spots may fill fast.
ROZ Puppet Show
June 20 at 11 a.m.
"The Boy Who Saw Martians," a retelling of The Boy Who Cried Wolf. Tickets must be reserved and picked up at the library in advance.
June 24 at 5:30 p.m.
Prepare to be nostalgic and get ready to jam-the children's department will be playing the 90's classic movie that has Michael Jordan and all the Looney Tunes characters in it.
Wabash Valley Astronomical Society Space Talk
June 25 at 2 p.m.
The Wabash Valley Astronomical Society from Lafayette will be giving an all-ages, family-friendly presentation on the mysteries of the universe.
Voigt Park Stargazing
July 9 at 10 p.m.
The children's department is joining the parks department for stargazing fun! We'll have telescopes and star maps for you as we observe the night sky. Come hear a star talk from a Twin Lakes science teacher!
Summer Reading Finale Party
July 12 at 1 p.m.
This is our final summer reading program of the season! Fort Wayne's Science Central will be here with interactive science stations and exhibits for children of all ages.
Children's Craft: Galaxy Jars
July 16 at 2 p.m.
This month we're having an EXTRA craft day where we'll be making galaxy jars! Create your own contained universe in a mason jar with colorful glow in the dark paint, sparkles, stars, and more. We have limited materials so registration is required. Materials might not be washable, so wear appropriate clothes. Aprons can be provided.
July 18 at 2 p.m.
Come beat the Heat for an afternoon of Classic Disney Fun. Cosmic comedy is on the prowl when an extraterrestrial cat named Jake is forced to crash-land his spaceship on Earth. Jake then proceeds to lead a physicist, his girlfriend, the Army, and a team of baffled scientists on endless escapades during his unscheduled and hilarious visit!
