Children's Summer Reading "Libraries Rock"

June 4 - July 14

Slogan 9Children need to read 6 books or 600 pages to receive a prize and get a ticket for the Grand Prize. For a chance at additional prizes, children can read more or attend programs.  For further details about summer reading, talk with the Children's staff.

 Saturday Arts and Crafts 
June 2 at 11 a.m.
Come create a snail craft at the library. 

Summer Reading Kickoff at the City Park
June 4 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Join us for games, snacks and sign up for summer reading! For all ages.

LEGO League
June 4, 11, 18 and 25 and July 9, 16, 23 and 30 at 3:30 p.m.
Join us for some fun creative Lego building! For all ages. There will be a special LEGO Build Off on July 9 at 3 p.m. Join us for friendly competition and win a prize for top builder.

LittleBits Club
June 5 and July 10 at 3:30 p.m. & June 9 July 14 at 11 a.m.
Let's explore and learn the basics about LittleBits electronics. For children in grades 2-5. Register.

Farmer's Market POP Club Constitiutional Plaza
June 5, 12, 19, 26 & July 3, 10, 17, 24, & 31 at 4 p.m. - 7 p.m.
The library is partnering with the Farmer's Market every Tuesday during Summer Reading Stop by for activities and free POP bucks to spend on fruits and vegetables. For more information, go to monticellofarmersmarket.weebly.com

Instrument Petting Zoo
June 13 at 4 p.m.
Frankie Rupe, from Frankie Rupe's School of Guitar, will be bringing in a petting zoo of instruments for children to see and "pet." Frankie will demonstrate the instruments for us, and give us a chance to experience music hands on. Register.

Toddler/Preschool Time
June 14 & 28 at 10 a.m. & July 12 at 10 a.m.
Families with children ages 1-6 years old can come in and have a rockin' good time! Stories, music, activities, and more! 

Rock and Roll Karaoke 
June 15 at 3:30 p.m.
Walk in on the "red" carpet and show us your singing skills! Fun, food and prizes galore! Registration required.

Rock On - Explore the rock cycle with Adelle Marvin

June 20 at 3 p.m.
Adelle Marvin will be joining us to talk about the types of rocks and how they're formed in the rock cycle. We will look at samples and even crack open a geode to see what's inside. Register.

ROZ Puppet Show
June 21 at 10 a.m.
Come join us for ROZ Puppets.  The puppets are in the style of muppets. This is a fun filled, family friendly show with jokes and music and lots of action.  Seating will be  limited, so we will be handing out tickets. artist rendition of a patriotic bookmark. For children in grades 2-5.

Anyone Can Paint for Children
June 27 at 10 a.m.
Learn how to paint a beautiful picture with artist Sandy Storey-Moon. This is a beginners program. All supplies provided. No cost. Open to school age children. Registration required.

June 28 at 5:30 p.m.

Freaky Friday Finished Fun - Summer Reading Program Party

July 13 at 2:30 p.m.
