Adult Summer Reading "Libraries Rock"

Adults need to read six books or 600 pages to complete the program. Books, ebooks and audiobooks are acceptable. Get a prize for completing the summer reading program and enter a drawing to win a record player! A complete listing of events for Adults is listed below:

Job Club
June 1 at 2 p.m. 
This program will be offered monthly for job seekers to gain valuable tips and resources to obtain employment. We will be working on interviewing skills.

Essential Oils 
June 2 and July 7 at 2 p.m.
Join us to learn about essential oils and how to use them with Frances Lukis. Register. Cost is $5.

Summer Reading Kickoff at the City Park
June 4 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Join us for games, snacks and sign up for summer reading!

Monday Night Yarn Club
June 4 & 18 at 6 p.m.
Join us for conversation while practicing or perfecting your knitting and crocheting with Rene Altman. All materials provided. Registration is required. 

The Art of Quilling 
June 5 at 6 p.m.
Come and learn the technique and design a beautiful piece of art work with local artist Joy Bailey. Registration is required.

ESL Class
June 6, 13, 20, & 27 at 6 p.m.
Learn to speak English or improve your English language skills at the library. This will be a countinuing class. Classes taught by volunteers from the White County Literacy Volunteers.

Smartypants Trivia Night
June 6 at 6 p.m.
Test your knowledge against friends and family. Win prizes! Trivia will meet at the library. 

Family Game Night
June 7 at 6 p.m. 
Come join us for an evening of board games galore! Lots of fun, fun, fun! Open to all ages.

Learning Spanish with Lily Bouwkamp
June 7, 14, 21, & 28 at 6:30
Would you like to learn a new language? Come learn how to communicate in Spanish with Lily Bouwkamp. Lily will cover all the vocabulary, phrases, verbs and grammar you need to speak Spanish.

Library Concert Series: Featuring The Moon Cats 
June 9 at 6 p.m.
Come to the Bandstand in downtown Monticello for a free concert. The Moon Cats perform 50s and 60s rock 'n roll music. "Be there or be square." If weather is inclement, the program will move to the library.

Karaoke Night
June 12 at 6 p.m.

Be a star for the night! Join us for an evening of fun, singing, and celebrating music. Pick a favorite tune to sing by yourself or with a group of friends. Refreshments will be available. Please register for an accurate count for refreshments. 

Midday Movie Matinee
June 13 at 12 p.m.
Showing: The Sound of Music
Bring your lunch or enjoy a snack provided by the library.

Vinyl Night
June 18 at 6 p.m.

Bring your friends and your records! We'll listen to music, swap records and talk about vinyl and record player care.

Rockin' Trivia Night
June 20 at 6 p.m.
Join us for a rockin' musical night. Come test your knowledge on name that tune, country hits, one hit wonders, name that band, and more! Groups of up to 4 people allowed. Win a prize! Refreshments provided. Registration is required. 

Mental Health Fair 
June 23 at 11 a.m.
Licensed therapists will be present to provide information about mental health, discuss warning signs and symptoms of mental illness, and answer any questions people in the community may have about these topics.

Join us downtown at the Bandstand for a free concert. Midlife Crisis is an evolution of class rock music. Join us for a good time listening to music. If weather is inclement, concert will be moved to the library.

July 20 at 6 p.m.
Join us for a Super Fun night of Games Galore after hours at the library! We will be serving up Pizza so be sure to register today!
