Childrens Summer Reading Program "Build a Better World"


June 5 - July 28

Children neeed to read 6 books or 600 pages to receive a prize and get a ticket for the Grand Prize. For a chance at additional prizes, children can read more or attend programs.

Preschool Story Hour
June 1, 15 & July 13 at 1 p.m.
Enjoy stories, songs, fingerplays and fun activities. For ages 3 - 5 years.

Children's Movie Night
June 1 at 5:30 p.m.
Showing: Brave

Summer Reading Kickoff at the City Park
June 5 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Join us for face painting, games, snacks and sign up for summer reading! For all ages.

LEGO League
June 5, 12, 19, 26 & July 3 at 3:30 p.m.
Join us for some fun creative Lego building! For all ages.

White County Rocks Program - Art Workshop
June 6 at 10:30 a.m.
Make community rocks with Heidi Funk. Paint a rock for home and one to pass on. Register.

LittleBits 101 
June 8 at 2:30 p.m. & July 20 at 2 p.m.
Let's explore and learn the basics about LittleBits electronics. For children in grades 2-5. Register.

Bug-Free Drive-In Double Feature
June 9 at 6 p.m.
Sing along to The Muppet Movie and later on Grease. For all ages.

Children's Art Contest
June 10 at 11 a.m. & June 20 at 5 p.m.
Create a drawing or painting about what the library means to you and it might get featured in our 2018 Library Calendar.

Toddler Time - Community Helpers
June 13 at 10 a.m.
Policeman, librarians, trash collector, doctor, who else is in our neighborhood? Create a Thank You card for them. For toddlers age 2 & 3.

Children's Movie Night
June 15 at 5:30 p.m.
Showing: Tangled

Build a Better Future with Color
June 16 at 10:30 a.m.
Come experiment all the ways to work with color. For children in grades K-5.

Meet the Author: Mary Lee Gutwein & Make a Patriotic Bookmark
June 17 at 10 a.m.
Join artist Mary Lee Gutwein as she leads kids through an artist rendition of a patriotic bookmark. For children in grades 2-5.

Build a Better Future with Flowers
June 20 at 10:30 a.m.
Come in and make your own flower pot to keep or give to someone. For children in grades 2-5.

Build and Take
June 21 at 3 p.m.
Come build a fun project to take home. For children in grades K-5.

Summer Fun Obstacle Course
June 22 at 10:30 a.m.
Come have fun! Open to all ages.

Building a Better Future: Recover from a Tornado
June 23 at 2 p.m.
White County Historical Society will be present for an informational program about the aftermath and rebuilding from the big Tornado.

Toddler Time - Build a Better Future Story Hour
June 27 at 10:30 a.m.
Stories, crafts and more! Ages 2 & 3.

Build a Better Bird Feeder
June 29 at 10 a.m.
Make bird feeders with pine cones, peanut butter and bird seed. Preschool - Grade 5.

Cleaning Day at the City Park

Building a Batmobile
July 14 at 10 a.m.
Join us on the patio to see a replica of the 1966 batmobile on display from Fiberglass Freaks out of Logansport. For all ages.

Farmer's Market: Power of Produce Club (POP)
Open to ages 4-16 | Every Tuesday night beginning on June 6 - August 8 from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Family Wilderness Survival Class
