MUTPL strives to serve the populations of Monticello, Union, and Jackson Townships and has done so for over a century. The totaled population of these areas is approximately 11,000 people. In the summer months our population swells by thousands with those visiting the lake area.
Our library has three major departments that make up the organization.
The circulation department handles everything dealing with library cards, loaning materials, fines, fees, charges, renewals, and holds on material.
The Adult department manages the libraries print and non-print adult collections. This department also handles all interlibrary loan, homebound delivery, processing, suggestions for materials, and plans the adult and senior programs.
The Juvenile department maintains the children and teen collections, both print and non-print. This department organizes children and teen programs.
