Children's Services

The Juvenile Department maintains the children's collections, both print and non-print. Throughout the year, programs and activities are offered that are educational and entertaining.  We are a community partner in supporting children's early language and literacy development.

What's Happening?

  • Storytimes
    The Children's Department presents storytimes for children toddler age through Grade 5.  Toddler Storytime is held on Mondays at 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.  Storytimes for children preschool age through Grade 1are held on Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Elementary Storytime for children in Grades 2-5 meets on Mondays at 3:30 p.m.  Children are invited to join us for stories, crafts, and snacks.  Special evening storytimes for children preschool age through Grade 3 are held the first Thursday of the month beginning at 6:30 p.m.
  • Art and Craft Saturdays
    The Children's Department offers an art/craft program the first Saturday of the month for children in Grades 2-5.
  • Popcorn and a Movie
    The Children's Department screens popular G and PG rated movies the third Tuesday of every month.  Popcorn and fun abounds.  Movies begin at 6:30 p.m. in the program room.  Registration is not required.
